Going Green from Every Angle
Not convinced by climate change? Not worried about saving money? Everyone has their reasons for shunning the eco
-path, but you could be overlooking something that fundamentally affects you. For every deterrent to going green, there’s plenty more showing it’s the only way forward.
Here’s why only the greenest of green is the only shade for us.
Environment
You know what’s in your food – it says it right on the box. Why don’t you know what’s in the things you use every day in your office? PVC, bleach, virgin paper – these all contribute to significant environmental (and health) damage.
People
Poor consumer choices don’t just affect the planet – they harm people too. Many unenvironmental products are produced unethically and often even with child labour, not to mention the health risks of the toxic materials used. If they’re bad for the environment, they’re probably bad for your health, too.
Money
Not everyone’s concerned with the eco cause, but they might be with budgets. The fallacy “green is too expensive” isn’t true anymore. We’ve proved offices can be supplied within and under budget. It has to be this way to be the viable alternative. Not only that, but cheap, mass produced stationery doesn’t last – it’s a false economy. Many green technologies are also designed to save you money, not just now but constantly.
Climate change
Sourcing sensibly is the only way to be sure you’ll cut emissions. That’s why we’re open about our supply chain and only use British or nearby Western European manufacturers. Every product you bring in from China boosts your carbon footprint and contributes to climate change.
Business
Let’s be honest, being green is good for business. Everyone has an environmental policy of some sort. If not, they’ll invariably be asked why not. Make that policy count and ensure you’re eco efforts make a genuine difference.
Quality
Green products are made to last. The whole ethos of eco is fundamentally opposed to a throw-away policy, so they’ve got to last the distance. Just take a look at our green toners – the often last twice as long as rivals. That’s not just saving the environment, but it’s saving you money, too.
Skills
When you use products flown in from afar, you’re not only contributing to a carbon footprint, but it’s causing the loss of skills here in the UK. Thinks like pottery, ink cartridge manufacture, in fact anything required on mass is dying out in Britain because it can’t compete with the demand for imported goods.
